Headquartered at Sycamore Creek Drive, Kingwood, TX, United States, Famine Fight LLC is an online platform which serves an event marketing hub utilizing the promotion of monetary pledges to donate to charities or organizational recipients in order to aid in the promotion of events. Famine Fight LLC also coordinates the collection of pledges, charging of pledges, and transfer of donations to the charities or organizational recipients for event participants, including creators and pledgers.
You may need to create an account to use our services offered on this website. When creating an account, you agree to provide correct and complete information, including name, email address (personal or official), and phone number. You “(the user)”, are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to use our website & services following all applicable laws and regulations – in a manner that does not interfere with or breach the rights of others or restrict or constrain their use of the website and services.
The site is accessible to anyone who wishes to create an event campaign fund or pledge to an event campaign fund.
By creating an event campaign fund, the user acknowledges and agrees to the charge of their initial pledge amount required to establish the fund. A creator’s pledge shall have the Stripe fee and the 5% Famine Fight LLC fee deducted from the creator’s pledge amount. The remaining amount after deducting both fees will be donated to the charity if the event is carried out and occurs. You, the event campaign creator will be the one to initiate the charging process of all pledges, including the creator’s pledge.
Once the creator’s pledge is made and the event campaign has been accepted by admin, withdrawing the pledge is impossible. However, if you “(the Creator)” makes the decision to terminate the Event Campaign Fund, a partial refund will be issued for the creator’s pledge. This refund will be calculated by deducting the Stripe Charge Fees, Stripe Refund Fees, and a 5% Famine Fight LLC Fee from the creator’s pledge amount.
Famine Fight LLC is not liable for the difference in the total pledged amount listed on the event campaign page at the time the event campaign is marked as complete by the creator and the total that is captured from charging all the pledges which reflects the total pledged amount. All pledges reflected in the total pledged amount on an event campaign page had payment methods (credit or debit cards) validated through Stripe at the time the pledge was placed. The longer an event campaign stays open and receives pledging the higher the possibility for a pledger’s payment method (credit or debit card) to expire, reach its limit, or not be authorized for other reasons at the time of charge.
Famine Fight LLC provides the service of charging pledges and sending the total amount captured as a donation to the charity or organizational recipient detailed by the event campaign creator and we can provide proof of the financial transfer with a breakdown of the total funds sent minus the Famine Fight Fee to the event creator by their request.
An event campaign creator has the full autonomy to create their own style of charitable promotion for their event campaign. The event creator would enter their charitable promotion in the event description section when creating an event campaign. Listed below are three examples of how promotions could be created in different ways but event creators are not limited to these styles. Event creators can be creative and create their own style of promotion which could be hosted by Famine Fight LLC if admin accepts the event campaign.
Example #1: The participant invited to attend the event can choose any charity of their liking to receive the donation.
Example #2: The donation will be divided between and sent to 10 major charities that feed the hungry in The United States.
Example #3: The donation will go to the charity “XYZ Company”.
In the case that a charity or organizational recipient specified for an event campaign does not accept the donation, Famine Fight LLC reserves the right to send the donation to any charity or charities that feed the hungry in The United States of America.
Famine Fight LLC will use the event creator’s email on account to exchange information regarding updates or changes to charitable recipients through admin@faminefight.com.
When someone pledges to an active event campaign fund, they will not be charged unless the event is carried out and occurs. If the pledges in the event campaign fund are charged, then all the pledged amounts will be disbursed to the charity or organizational recipient listed by the event campaign fund creator in the event description. All charged pledges shall have the Stripe fee and the 3% Famine Fight LLC fee deducted from the pledged amount. The remaining amount after deducting both fees will be allocated to the charity.
Pledges made into an event campaign are binding contracts and will be processed once events are marked as completed by event campaign creators. Once a pledge is made, the pledge cannot be deleted. Payment methods used to make pledges can be deleted by users from their accounts at any time yet the payment details used to make a pledge are encrypted and securely stored in Stripe for the purpose of charging that pledge once an event is marked as completed. If a pledge is charged due to an event being marked as completed by the event campaign creator, there will be no refund. Once a pledge in an event campaign fund is charged the process begins to send that pledge as a donation to the charity or organizational recipient in accordance with the charitable promotion stated in the event description. After a pledge is charged, it cannot be refunded.
A User can close their account from their dashboard at any time, yet if the user has made a pledge into an event campaign the pledge will remain active after the account is closed because pledges are binding contracts as stated in the Terms of Use. The payment details used to make a pledge are encrypted and securely stored in Stripe for the purpose of charging that pledge once an event is marked as completed. There are two outcomes for the pledge, either the pledge is charged because the creator marked the event as completed or the pledge is deleted because the creator closed the event campaign.
